Airswift is looking for a Civil Supervisor to work on a permanent contract in Guyana with a large company specializing in engineering, procurement and construction solutions.
Professionals with experience in construction supervision, preferably in an EPC company or in industrial/electric plant projects.
The Civil Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil construction activities on-site. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all civil works on-site, ensuring adherence to project schedules, plans, and specifications.
Ensure compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other construction staff to ensure smooth workflow, quality and productivity.
Plan and schedule daily and weekly civil activities in coordination with the construction/project manager.
Monitor progress against project timelines and milestones, identifying and addressing potential delays.
Ensure proper utilization of materials, equipment, and manpower.
Resolve technical issues that arise during construction and provide solutions to keep projects on track.
Inspect and approve work completed by subcontractors and construction teams to ensure quality standards are met.
Identify and rectify any deviations or non-conformances in civil works.
Coordinate with quality control (QC) personnel for testing and documentation of completed works.
Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, and health and safety standards.
Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field will be an asset.
Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, etc.) would be an asset.
Experience in civil construction supervision, preferably in an EPC company or industrial/power plant projects.
Proven track record of delivering projects within schedule and quality parameters.
