Graduate Engineer/Trainee - Metallurgy
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for metallurgy and a drive to succeed? Join our team as a Graduate Engineer/Trainee in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and gain valuable experience in the field of quality control and negotiation.


Role Overview
  • Assist the management team in technical and engineering aspects of business operations at Dar-Es-Salaam Seaport.
  • Conduct quality and quantity pre-inspection of copper cargo before third party inspection.
  • Supervise material handlers for packaging, shifting, and marking of inspection purposes.
  • Coordinate with third party inspection agencies for activities in warehouses near Dar-Es-Salaam Port.
  • Ensure compliance with international quality standards for copper, as set by the London Metal Exchange.
  • Verify export documentation in accordance with customs guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Communicate with clients, service providers, and government authorities through verbal and email correspondence.
  • Analyze data and prepare management information system (MIS) reports.
  • Willingness to travel to the Copperbelt Region (Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia) for inspections at seller locations.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of quality control and metallurgy principles.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google G-Suite functionalities.
  • Familiarity with statistical quality control methods.
  • Certification in marketing management, marketing strategy, or marketing research is a plus.
  • Fluent in English and Swahili language, both written and verbal.
  • Integrity, positive attitude, proactive approach, and ability to multitask.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Metallurgy Engineering.
  • Fresher or 1-2 years of experience (trainees are also welcome to apply).
