Woodside Energy, a leading Australian energy company, is seeking a highly experienced Occupational Hygiene Adviser to join our Health & Medical team on a 6-month contract basis. This is a specialist role focused on occupational hygiene and is critical to supporting our offshore and onshore assets across Australia.

This position is based in Perth and will involve periodic travel (typically 2–3 days at a time) to offshore assets including Goodwyn, Rankin, Pluto A, Okha, Ngujima-Yin, and Pyrenees, with potential support for onshore locations such as Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) and Pluto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage health risk management processes addressing biological, chemical, physical, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards.

  • Coordinate and oversee site surveys and compliance monitoring programs, including noise assessments, asbestos management, potable water testing, radiation monitoring, and airborne contaminants.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive occupational hygiene monitoring plans.

  • Collaborate with operational teams and provide practical, tailored hygiene guidance.

  • Analyse monitoring data, health events, and surveys to identify trends and inform strategy improvements.

  • Stay current with emerging industry risks through continuous learning and professional engagement.

  • Mentor HSE professionals and support continuous improvement of hygiene systems across the business.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Occupational Hygiene or a closely related discipline.

  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant industry experience is preferred.

  • Proven experience in the resources sector is essential; oil and gas industry experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to diverse asset types and classes.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.

  • Willingness and capability to travel to offshore and onshore facilities as needed.

Certifications & Requirements

  • Current TBOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) certification.

  • MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card) required.

  • Ability to travel offshore and work in a dynamic operational environment.
