Airswift is looking for a Plant Manager to work on a permanent contract in Guyana with a large company specializing in engineering, procurement and construction solutions.
Professionals with experience in power plant operations, including experience in managing engines such as the 9H21/32. Experience in HFO-based power generation systems, inventory control and CMMS tools.
The power plant manager will oversee the safe, efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of all power plants. This role requires ensuring optimal performance, regulatory compliance, cost control, inventory management and leadership of the O&M team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily operations of the Hyundai 9H21/32 engines to ensure optimal energy
Monitor load conditions, fuel consumption, and key engine parameters to meet dispatch requirements.
Develop and enforce operational strategies to reduce downtime and improve plant reliability.
Plan and execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance schedules fengines and auxiliary systems.
Coordinate with Hyundai technical support for troubleshooting, system upgrades, and warranty claims.
Maintain robust documentation of maintenance records and ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
Implement and oversee inventory management systems for spare parts and consumables to ensure availability of critical components.
Track inventory levels, forecast requirements, and optimize procurement to minimize costs without risking delays.
Conduct regular audits of inventory to prevent stock discrepancies and improve supply chain efficiency.
Ensure adherence to HSE standards and regulations, conducting regular audits and
training programs.
Oversee environmental compliance, including emissions control for HFO-based systems.
Conduct risk assessments and establish protocols to minimize operational hazards.
Lead, train, and develop the O&M team with a focus on technical excellence and safety.
Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring alignment with plant objectives.
Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maintenance.
Analyze performance data and prepare reports on plant efficiency, costs, and downtime
for senior management.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational optimization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
Experience in power plant operations, including experience managing engines such as the 9H21/32.
Experience in HFO-based power generation systems, inventory control and CMMS tools.
Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills
