The Company
A global mining operator is looking to execute a mining processing infrastructure project on their overseas mine. As a result, we are looking for a very experienced Project Manager to take on this challenge from the FEED to construction stage.
The Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for the project planning, schedules, budgets, stakeholder engagement, risk management, site mobilization and construction management.
You will be working in the Brisbane office, reviewing the FEED stages making recommendations on selected contractors and project planning for the first 3-4 months of the project. Thereafter, it will be a hybrid of a Brisbane office and FIFO 9/5 to the overseas mine site till completion of the project.
This role is only open to Brisbane based candidates.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Establish project objectives, scope, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Create detailed budgets and resource allocation plans.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Identify and engage with all relevant stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Transitioning to the mine’s operation to oversee construction and implementation.
- Managing project risks and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Reporting on project progress and performance.
- When transitioning to site, oversee the mobilization of resources and personnel to the site and ensure all logistical arrangements are in place for a smooth transition.
- Supervise construction contractor to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to manage procurement and delivery of materials.
- Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Substantial experience in mining-related construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing processing infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in change management and in managing up to $50million project value.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Overseas experience is highly regarded.
- Brisbane based.
