Safety Lead – Onshore

Airswift is seeking for a Safety Lead – Onshore to work with our client based in Qatar.
Job Purpose
Plan, direct, co-ordinate and supervise all safety activities to ensure that applicable Company safety standards are, achieved and maintained at Onshore Projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering, or Safety discipline.
- 8 years of related experience with 5 years in a supervisory level in petrochemical, oil and gas industry with special emphasis on safety and operations.
- Provide safety input and review during all project phases (i.e., FEED, EPC, Commissioning and Start-up).
- Plan, direct, co-ordinate and supervise the activities of assigned personnel in the on-plot or the off-plot areas and align the Safety training, and Safety Shutdown teams in key areas of Safety Health and Environment.
- Act as a focal point for all departments in analysis of safety information, trends, and prevention techniques.
- Plan and implement techniques for effective risk and hazard identification and control to ensure the health and safety of all people on Company’s facilities.
- Lead periodic reviews, audits and inspections of plant facilities to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices encompassing personnel and equipment safety, industrial hygiene, fire protection, loss prevention, and emergency preparedness.
- Plan, develop and implement Safety Procedures to meet the requirements of Company’s Safety.
- Manage incident prevention, plant safety inspections, safety recommendations, safety materials, and equipment.
- Provide support for Safety section budget preparation and management.
- Monitor expenditure and justifies variances.
- Ensure the safety training program is aligned to the requirements of the Safety Section and the Safety Officers that are employed within it.
- Establish standards and policies within the company that will ensure compliance to the State SHE regulations, internationally recognized SHE standards and best practices.
- Maintain the communications efforts to all parties within areas of responsibilities in particular asset management of the legal implications of unsafe acts and conditions and the need of addressing SHE concerns in a positive, effective and efficient manner to prevent reoccurrence.
