We are seeking a Sr. Staffing Assistant to join a major LNG client in Houston, TX, for an initial 1-year assignment likely to be extended.

  • Description:
    • Primary Purpose

      Serve as primary client contact for strategic staffing and recruiting needs. Provide guidance, counsel and policy interpretation on complex staffing issues. Partner with clients to develop strategy to fill job vacancies and meet client staffing needs while ensuring Company objectives are met and clients adhere to labor and other employment laws, utilizing in-depth knowledge of all steps in the full life-cycle of recruiting to ensure strategies are effective and meet compliance criteria.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with candidate pools with the objective of creating viable diverse pipelines of talent for current and future openings. Build and present fact-based and compelling business cases in support of hiring decisions, initiatives, and resources. Provide information and guidance to ensure the hiring manager makes the best selection decision. Develop a market-competitive offer for selected candidates. Provide consistent and positive communication to stakeholders throughout hiring experience while managing the expectations of both candidates and hiring managers. 
      • Provide guidance and interpretation on Human Resources Staffing policies and procedures. Provide client group guidance on complex union contract issues related to staffing to ensure minimal risk to company by reducing costly arbitration/grievance proceedings.
      • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

      Education

      • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, related field or equivalent training and experience required.

      Experience

      • 5 years of experience in a Human Resource capacity with a focus on employment/recruitment function as a high-level professional required. LNG or Oil& Gas experience preferred.
      • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS required.
      • Project management experience preferred.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of all steps in the full life cycle of recruiting.
      • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of a wide variety of sourcing strategies.
      • Demonstrated seasoned judgment and critical thinking skills.
      • Strong written and communication skills. Requires tact, diplomacy and excellent oral and written communication skills.
      • Strong partnership and influencing skills – using creativity to leverage resources needed to respond to client’s needs.
      • Ability to effectively utilize the following to source candidates: social media, internet networking/deep web searches, etc.
      • Competent interviewer who has practice in various interview techniques.
      • Experience using a variety of recruitment, attraction, selection tools and methodologies.
      • Knowledge of the Applicant Tracking System, HRIS and demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
      • Must have excellent computer skills especially in Microsoft Office programs.
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving and judgment skills.
      • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding applicant and employee information required.
