We are currently searching for a Site Planner to work on a site based position located in Montoir de Bretagne, France in a 16 - month contract with the possibility of extension.

Job Description:
As a Site Planning Manager, you will ensure constant monitoring of the project planning (level 3/4) regarding the design and delivery of the material, detects trends requiring a schedule control action and maintain the construction team informed of any changes.

Main Responsibilities:
The main missions of the OPC Site Planner include the following tasks:
  • Draw up the level 3 Project Management Schedule according to the activities, units, subcontracting strategy (main construction schedule), and define a program of work milestones.
  • Controls the consistency between the level 3 project schedule and the subcontractors' schedules and brings a critical eye to these schedules.
  • Compile subcontractors' schedules under a common site schedule (level 4 schedules).
  • Prepare all the input, schedule and progress data necessary for the monthly site progress report and submits it to the site manager and/or construction manager.
  • Develop and update work progress monitoring system, considering (by subcontract and/or by trade/discipline) the situation and the quantity of work to be carried out.
  • Manage the preparation of the weekly site report.
  • Verifies the consistency between the actual situation and the planned situation on the site.
  • Monitor subcontractors' resources concerning the planned progress and suggests adjustments if necessary.
  • Monitor the evolution (planning/progress) by anticipating possible trends or deviations to determine their impact on the overall schedule and alerts the site manager and the project management.
  • Committed to solving problems in the event of any issues with the delivery schedules.
  • Maintain the activities and amount of work updated and maintains labour forecasts, progress graphs and histograms.
  • Attend coordination meetings with subcontractors to manage the coordination of mobilization dates, access to work areas and demobilization of subcontractors.
  • Verify with the support of the construction management and the team, that the work is fully completed and recommends its acceptance and the corresponding final payment.
  • Generate reports describing comparisons of progress and establish the necessary revisions to the schedule as well as any changes to the logic of the work.
  • Propose the analysis of actions allowing improvement on project progress or execution of selected tasks.
  • Identify and summarize existing or potential problems.
  • Continuously monitor the schedule to compare progress with forecasts.
  • Monitor events (outside company’s responsibility) that have an impact on the schedule and provide site manager analysis.
Background and Required Experiences:
  • 10 years of experience (or more) in the realization of industrial construction projects in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sector.
  • Revamping experience on site under Decree 92 appreciated Very good experience in the monitoring of construction by integrating a site supervision team (Project Manager).
  • Very good experience in carrying out revamping work in operating conditions with scheduled shutdowns.
  • Steering, monitoring and coordinating the activities of subcontracting companies with the supervision team.
  • Realization and monitoring of implementation schedules (level 3 and 4) by integrating the schedules of the different companies / disciplines.
  • Be familiar with the use of engineering documentation.
  • Experience with Planning software: Primavera P6 and MSP
  • Familiar with pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up activities and associated documents.
  • Familiar with planning and monitoring of procurement, shipping and works contracts.
  • Familiar with planning and follow-up of engineering studies.
Computer Knowledge:
  • Outlook, MS Office Pack (Word / Excel), Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Management of project and supplier databases (PDB, VDBx, SDBx, GAIA).
Trainings and Certifications:
  • GIES Level 1.
  • ATEX Level 0.
  • Scaffolding Certificate.
  • H0B0 (Electrical Authorization training for people who work in environments where electrical hazards are present but do not perform electrical work directly).
  • Fire Extinguisher Training Certificate.
  • Safety Harness Use Training.
  • Site Safety Training.
  • MASE (Manual for the Improvement of Company Safety).
