The role responsibilities include:
- Ensure that their people, including subcontractors, are aware of site rules, relevant HSE contractual and local legislative requirements, and the potential consequences of breaches.
- Monitor the people under their control to ensure that they comply with their own individual responsibilities.
- Give clear instructions to the people under their control about the required methods of work.
- Identify all necessary training requirements of the people under their control and make sure management are made aware that this is required.
- Ensure that the plant and equipment supplied is appropriate for the work to be carried out and that it has the necessary certification requirements and is operated by authorized personnel only.
- Ensure that the necessary disciplinary guidelines for breach of HSE processes and rules is applied where necessary.
- Ensure there is good work site housekeeping.
- Listen to workers concerns about safety and act on them.
- Participate in investigations into injuries, accidents, and high potential incidents.
- Supervise delivery vehicles and ensure they follow instructions for entering and moving on site.
- Participating in CRAWs and ensuring work is carried out according to the relevant Construction Risk Assessments.
- Undertake one Critical Control Verification per day, along with that one work area inspection per day.
- Identify any Permits for Work required for the scope of work on any given day.
- Share Site Notification information at Pre-starts, and run Pre-start Meetings.
- Undertake any leadership training on site when required to do so.
- Demonstrate excellent safety behaviours and demand it from everyone they supervise.
- Stress the requirement to intervene if an activity appears unsafe, and challenge how their team understands risk – especially on routine tasks.
- Provide positive leadership on HSE issues to everyone in their team and encourage the right behaviours that protect both people and the environment and support the HSE Advisors in the work area.
- Control of the installation, maintenance and update of signage e.g., designated access points, in work area.
- Trade qualification in a SMP-related discipline.
- Industry White Card.
- Demonstrates full commitment to excellent health and safety outcomes. Strong leadership and ability to conduct pre-starts, toolboxes and CRAW’s.
- Experience in management of construction contracts for Structural/Mechanical/Piping project execution, including site supervision and coordination of Contractor activities, maintaining safety, environmental and quality standards, coordinating resolution of technical queries and management of completions documentation.
- Extensive years of experience, including relevant SMP supervisory and/or technical experience; EPCM project experience in a relevant field. Previous field experience is essential.
- Substantial technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant disciplines and proven experience in package management on similar size projects. Proficient knowledge of structural, mechanical and piping systems. Specialist experience in mineral sands concentrator plant installation and completions.
- Can make independent decisions and set priorities related to complex situations based on established guidelines and taking into account the cost and schedule impacts to the project.
- Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint. Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.
- Experience in Completions Management Software, Hexagon Smart Completions preferred.
