Key Responsibilities and background
- Administer the packages of the electrical engineering group
- Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce a range of electrical engineering deliverables (including more complex tasks) with limited guidance and direction from more senior technical professionals
- Develops a range of electrical engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, technical requisitions, material requisitions and others
- Ensure that Electrical Engineering activities are executed according to company & client project procedures, specifications and standards, good engineering practices and techniques, and any project-specific requirements
- Supervise the day-to-day (if any) engineering interfaces between PMC core engineering group, Project Management team and the engineering teams assigned to the EPC package – includes interaction with all other specialist disciplines as required
- Participate in design reviews and engineering changes with customer and EPC contractor as necessitated by design development and ensure core team are made aware of these
- Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required
- Participate in project reviews, value engineering and value improvement workshops with customer / contractor
- Participate in GEC (Global Execution Center) meetings and reviews
- Input engineering procedures and work practices in conjunction with Core Electrical Lead as appropriate
- Responsible for estimating electrical discipline manhours and schedule requirements in production of deliverables, coordinates own work schedule, and prepares progress reports.
- Review vendor documentation
- Carryout Site Surveys and develop site survey reports
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
- Experience in major oil / gas refinery / petrochemical projects in the capacity of senior electrical engineer with engineering contractor / PMC organization
- Fully familiar with international codes, standards and recommended practices to be adopted during EPC phases of oil / gas projects
- Must have the capacity to supervise and manage EPC Contractors and development of detail design deliverables
- Must have proven ability to contribute during development of electrical system studies
- Fluent English is a must, knowledge of French and Dutch is a plus
- Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation

The project is approximately 9 million labor hours with a peak labor force of approximatley 2000 FTE’s. Our client, a major Oil and Gas client, is looking for a Sr. Pipeline Hydraulics Engineer to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary. The subject position is responsible for supporting in-house pipeline hydraulic modeling development and hydraulic analysis requested by various stakeholders including operation, integrity, business development and projects.
Primary Deliverables:
- Develop and maintain both steady state and transient hydraulic models for both LI and G&P pipeline systems.
- Build in-house pipeline hydraulics database, standards and procedures as well as coordinate training events.
- Provide hydraulic evaluation support to address safety concerns, performance challenges and management of changes in the existing pipeline operation and new pipeline commissioning.

Follows established process of CMMS data transfer and its thorough formatting from E1 system to standardized Excel/P6 shape to it use during Maintenance weekly schedule preparation. Responsible for inspecting all equipment arriving at the shore base, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This role involves verifying and processing vendor paperwork, overseeing the loading and offloading of cargo from trucks and vessels, and coordinating with the yard crew to safely manage equipment transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect arriving equipment for compliance with safety and operational guidelines.
- Check in and verify vendor paperwork, ensuring accuracy.
- Initial off on paperwork for items that have been inspected and processed.
- Supervise and verify the loading and offloading of cargo from trucks and vessels.
- Work with the yard crew to ensure safe and efficient transfer of equipment between trucks, vessels, and the yard.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with procedures.
- Experience in working with equipment, trucks, and vessels is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and yard crew.
- Safety-conscious with a focus on maintaining a secure working environment.
