Key Responsibilities

The Civil and Structural Engineer will be responsible for all projects associated with the KTL and SGP/SGI and other Offplot Projects.

Responsibility for civil and structural engineering design works on a wide variety of facilities, including following:

Our green steel production in Boden will be powered by one of the world’s largest green hydrogen plants, running on renewable electricity. To be responsible for ensuring that the plans for the security of the staff at all worksites are in place. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that these plans are effective and monitored to ensure optimization and that the employees on the project are secure. Additionally, the Security Lead is to ensure that the performance of Level One contractors and their security subcontractors are to EACOP standards.

- Conduct risk assessments, of hotel accommodation and accommodation at site locations in Tanzania or Uganda in accordance with the project’s standards.
- Ensure the in-country Persons on Board (POB) List for construction is kept up to date and that employees’ locations are known for evacuation purposes.

Experience:
5yrs petroleum experience or relevant work history
1+ yrs functional Reservoir Engineer experience
Experience in EOR processes such as water flooding, CO2 flooding, WAG flooding, or gas flooding desired.
Experienced user of economics and surveillance software; DSS and Aries strongly preferred.
Strong business acumen and an understanding of project economics
Project management skills and can prioritize work and schedule accordingly
Demonstrated ability to recognize and solve problems working with others.
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently.
Good communication skills – articulates well and conveys clear objectives
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
- Adhere to and carry out all company environmental rules, policies, standards & procedures.
- Supports accident prevention and environmental programs within work area.
- Monitors work performed by outside contractors and/or other maintenance service organizations.
- Ensures the operating function, reliability and quality of plant operating instrument and electrical equipment contained within the area.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, assignment and follow-up of area instrument and electrical maintenance work.
- Provides technical training on equipment and systems.
- Reviews specifications on new equipment and systems to assure that maintenance requirements are met.
- Supports and carries out company policies and adheres to maintenance standards and procedures.
- Responds to calls on off-duty hours as dictated by plant needs.
- Responsible for the planning, development, and scheduling of PM and corrective maintenance work orders in the maintenance computer system.
- Responsible for multi-craft coordination to properly execute all jobs.
- Order materials to support the I&E technicians
- Maintain and coordinate control valve rebuilds site wide
- Coordinate calibration of I&E test equipment site wide
- Coordinate testing of gloves, hot sticks, and other safety equipment
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma is required, plus completion of an approved Instrument/Electrical course.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a journeyman I/E technician or as an I/E planner.
- Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Must be self-directed and able to work normal responsibilities with minimal direction
- 10+ years experience in petrochem/refinery planning with at least 5 years of I&E focus
