Civil/Structural Engineer – Houston, TX
Our client is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX, for an initial one-year assignment.
The contingent Civil/Structural Engineer will join the client’s Engineering & Construction (E&C) department, based in Houston, TX, and report to the E&C Staff Structural Engineer. The selected applicant will primarily provide civil/structural engineering expertise to support Operations and Maintenance (O&M) brownfield capital projects at the Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) facility.
The Civil/Structural Engineer will play a key role in supporting the client’s mission to operate safely and reliably. This involves understanding and evaluating structures within the facility, working closely with the CCL O&M Engineering Services team to provide civil/structural expertise and quality assurance reviews of engineering work packages (EWP) and contractor deliverables. This role will provide senior level support on brownfield projects of varying complexity with limited supervision.
Key areas of competency include:
- Comprehensive knowledge of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design
- Design of brownfield structural retrofits in a live plant environment
- Familiarity with geotechnical data and design of deep and shallow foundations
- General knowledge of onshore LNG facilities, material handling methods, and construction techniques
- Implementation of EWPs through turnaround execution, project construction, and startup
- Provide civil/structural engineering support for facility-wide improvement initiatives as part of a multi-discipline engineering team, including occasional field support to survey structural repairs/modifications.

- All assigned substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution).
