Qualifications:
- The AMT must possess a valid FAA A & P Certificate for display per FAR Part 65.89 and with notification of current address to the Administrator as required by FAR Part 65.21.
- Must meet the recent experience or requirements of FAR Part 65.83.

Responsibilities and Authorities
- Responsible for accomplishing all work assigned to them in accordance with policies, procedures, and Specifications outlined in the Company's and the manufacturer's manuals, and in accordance with the provision of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Must be knowledgeable of the General Maintenance Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, and the Company's Operation Specifications.
- Responsible for proper use of the MEL procedures, proper completion of the deferred maintenance entry in the aircraft log, and required maintenance actions as described by the MEL.
- May perform receiving inspection on incoming parts, supplies, and material when performing maintenance away from the main base.
- AMTs and Inspectors are responsible for ensuring that any part removed from stock is determined to be acceptable for installation prior to installation or aircraft return to service. May reject any part not meeting AMM or Company parts certification.
- Responsible for verifying that all shelf life limited products and materials used are within shelf life prior to use, once the shelf life items have been issued by Stores.
- Carefully inspect all work completed by personnel assigned to assist them. Properly sign, record, and assume responsibility for all work they do as well as be responsible for co-signed work performed by non-certificated personnel assigned to assist them, as provided for in this Manual.
- Responsible for identification of RII items on non-routine discrepancies in the aircraft logbook and in scheduled inspections. In cases where an item in a routine task card may be an RII item, they will mark the item RII.
- Responsible for accomplishment of work to meet all aircraft maintenance manual procedures while ensuring quality workmanship is presented for inspection. The use of inspection is to confirm that work was accomplished properly - not to catch poor performance or enforce better work standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that the RII inspector is notified of the need for inspection before closure of an area for inspection. This will prevent the unscheduled reopening of an area for re-inspection.
- Maintain an attitude of alertness concerning possible unsafe or hazardous practices by themselves or other personnel that might be injurious to life or property.
- Report all hazardous practices and equipment to the DOM.
- Authority to decline certification of an aircraft for flight if he or she believes the aircraft is not safe.
- Properly and efficiently use all Company tools, parts, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area to include personal and shop equipment.
- Expected to have and maintain an adequate set of hand tools normally used in maintaining aircraft and ground equipment.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a tool listing and shadowed locations in their toolbox to account for tools during and after work is performed. New mechanics have 90 days from the date of hire to shadow their toolboxes and submit an inventory to their supervisor.
- Responsible for ensuring tool calibration is current prior to use of the tool. It is also the responsibility of the individual AMT to calibrate his personal equipment or remove it from service when due calibration. When scheduled for extended travel away from base, AMTs are responsible for checking tool calibration in advance to ensure nothing will come due during the anticipated duration of the trip.
- Responsible for clean-up during and after all job junctions.
- Provide a detailed and complete report of work progression to assist their relief. Provide on-the-job instruction and supervision of personnel assigned to assist them.
- Responsible for keeping up-to-date with manual changes, policy changes and rules concerning general conduct.
- Responsible for checking Read Files when first reporting for duty.
- Responsible for promoting identification and reporting of safety hazards in the work environment or when confronted with an unsafe situation. Promotes a positive Safety Culture with co-workers and supports the maintenance organization in compliance with SMS.
