Our Company
We are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to be placed in Lyon, FR and would be on a 6-month contract with possibility of extension. The professional will be responsible for the delivery of Contract Services and Strategy during execution phase of the project, and may either assist two or more projects in parallel, or be fully assigned to a project.

Responsibilities
  • Provide main contract support and lead all contractual activities for the Project towards the
  • Client,
  • Prepare (technical & legal), submit, negotiate and settle change orders, claims and amendments (with support of Project Management Team / Managing Director),
  • Build dossier defending the client’s interest in case of claim,
  • Protect and pursue the client’s interests and contractual rights,
  • Track any risks and track/pursue opportunities in view of consolidating and increasing the project profit margin,
  • Maintain the client’s liability exposure under strict control,
  • Provide appropriate support and guidance to the Project Manager and leadership within the Project team in the management and administration of the contract, consistently with the relevant policies, standards and processes,
  • Participate in all project meetings (internal or with Client) when the agenda relates to the project status, cost and schedule issues in order to be aware of project activities, which may affect the client’s in respect to contractual position and exposure to risks. Issue recommendations to the Project Manager for taking appropriate and timely actions to protect the client’s interests,
  • Initiate, draft and/or review, all incoming and outgoing correspondence with Clients, or Client’s Group subcontractors or vendors if required,
  • Work closely with the project control to monitor schedule performance and cost trends in order to identify risks and opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and risks mitigation,
  • Prepare a consolidated analysis of the Contract Terms and Conditions to highlight the areas of risks and opportunities to be pursued. As the work proceeds, assist the Project Manager in the management of these risks as they arise and in pursuing the opportunities in accordance with the client’s targets,
  • Assist the Project Manager in analysing and tackling project financial issues and follow up the client progress payment and billings to ensure compliance with contract terms and requirements in cooperation with the project controller,
  • Work with the other project team members to monitor and identify Client’s actions and/or  inactions, which could result in contract changes and assist the Project Manager in their resolution with respect to additional compensation and/or time relief through change order management,
  • Initiate and coordinate the preparation (technical and legal), negotiation and settlement of change orders and claims,
  • Monitor adherence to contract insurance provisions and coordinate any actions required in this regard with the client’s insurance department; ensure that all information needed for insurance claims are collected in due time,
  • Assist the subcontracting and procurement teams in the identification, negotiation and resolution of major change orders and claims of subcontractors and vendors, as may be required from time to time,
  • Liaise and obtain when required legal expertise from the Legal Team (corporate, compliance, litigation, general legal advice) and other functions (treasury, tax, insurance, etc.) with the purpose of providing the Project with a comprehensive set of legal and contractual services.

Skills / Qualifications
  • BAC + 5 or equivalent Master’s Degree, MS/MSc,
  • Proven minimum 10 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas EPC contracting within an international company is a must
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English and French is a must
  • Strong negotiation skills and capacity to influence
  • Knowledgeable of schedule analysis methodologies and Extension of Time claims.
