We are seeking a highly skilled Contracts Advisor to join our clients' team supporting a new carbon capture pipeline project in the North Sea. As a leading global engineering and construction company, our client are committed to delivering safe and sustainable projects.

Role Overview

  • Review and qualify or draft various types of contracts, including engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation, service contracts, and more.
  • Manage workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management, and Procurement functions.
  • Prepare contract summaries for specific projects.
  • Advise Company and Corporate Management on contractual risks and propose mitigation actions.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external clients, partners, and subcontractors, negotiate and prepare summaries or minutes of meetings.
  • Negotiate contractual instruments in the best interest of the company and in accordance with risk policies.
  • Support Project Management teams in determining claims and contract management strategies, evaluating variation order requests, and drafting project correspondence.
  • Assist Procurement function in reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Perform legal research on case law affecting our market space.
  • Have knowledge of industry standard contracts such as FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, and IOCs.
  • Resolve legal and contractual matters in coordination with relevant Corporate functions.
  • Regularly report to Company and Corporate Management on Contract Management activities.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience of English Law.
  • Proven experience in reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and administering project contracts with effective negotiation skills.
  • Experience in negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen and influence.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills with a team player attitude.
  • Willingness to travel for short missions or potential long-term assignments.
