Airswift are currently partnering with a global company who are currently in need of an experienced and motivated E&I Superintendent to be based in Essex or Manchester, UK. The Superintendent will join on a 12+ month contract basis and will assist the Construction Site Manager to execute and monitor all E&I works.
Responsibilities
- Assist Construction Manager to execute and monitor all E&I works
- Ensure all aspects of the works are always carried out in the safest manner
- Managing the installation and testing of Electrical, Instrumentation, Communications, Telecoms and F&G systems
- Supervise the Electrical (HT/LT/MV/LV) installation and testing works
- Supervise the Instrumentation certification and installation works
- Experience in trouble shooting of E&I system/program
- Ensure ITP Compliant and document compilation
- Experience in managing and coordinating with other Building Services
- Ensure the full compliance of Safety and Schedule requirement
- Ensure productivity of labour force against the budget man-hours
- Management of Foremen, Chargehands and crews
- Ensure materials and installation compliance to specifications
- Constant in-situ field inspection to ensure quality of works deliver
- Review Method Statement of Works and preparation of FLRA’s with crews
- Perform FAT and SAT inspection
- Perform system line check, field instrument checks and certification
- Perform calibration, functional check, Loop check and respective testing
- Perform system walk-down, line check and punch-listing
- Trouble shooting and clearing of all punch item and closure
- Experience in Pre-com & COM as well as validation of respective system
- Close coordination with other project team/trade members
- Review and interpret drawing/shop drawing
- Manage sub-contractors and monitor progress and reporting
- Handle Walk-down, Punch-listing, Clearing and Closure
- Interface and Coordinating with Client/QP representative
Qualifications and Requirements
- E&I Trade back-round
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience post qualification
- Knowledge of Good Engineering practices
- Well versed in interpretation of Construction drawings to review and comment
- Min 5 years’ experience in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and Heavy Industrial Industries
- Familiar with Permit to work environment
- Familiar with FastTrack project environment
- Fit and ready for construction / Oil & Gas /site environment
- Be Independent and Pro active
- Be prepared to be fulltime and at ease in field supervision
- Be prepared to work extended hours per site requirement
- Be a teamwork player with good interpersonal skill

Airswift are currently partnering with a global company who are currently in need of an experienced and motivated Construction Site Manager E&I to be based in Essex or Manchester, UK. The site manager will have an electrical background and will join their project delivery team in either location on a 12+ month LTD contract basis. This role will require a strong focus on leadership responsibilities, with the overall responsibility for the safe execution of project and site/construction implementation.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the safe execution of project and site/construction implementation
- Prepare pre-mobilisation plans and pre-construction requirements including HSE Plans, Quality Plans, RAMS and ITP’s.
- Responsible for Construction, HSEQ, Commercial and Project Controls functions of the project.
- Assess and monitor deployment of labour, supervision and equipment during the course of construction, paying particular attention to available work fronts.
- Ensure that methods of work are up to date, efficient and in accordance with company and client safety policies and Occupational Health and Safety.
- Set up, update and monitor the Project Measure and SE.
- Investigate and account for any deviations from budget man-hours / Norms on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that Take-Offs of all Construction Drawings are carried out to record and manage any changes on an ongoing basis throughout the project cycle are being carried out.
- Ensure construction installation keeps to plan and any delays are recorded and communicated to client with the respective Cause & Effect analysis
- Ensure the completion and submission of early warnings/ variations for any additional works outside of the agreed scope of work.
- Ensure Daily Field Reports are fully completed and information logged for recording site based activities.
- Monitor and Maintain project cost control and reporting, ensuring efficient work practices, time & attendance, working hours, pay rates, labour mix etc.
- Managing the manpower and resources planning and mobilisation allocation
- Attend site meetings with client and chair internal weekly meetings
- Managing the Procurement, Tender Evaluation and Selection of sub-contractors and follow through the implementation, forecasting and contract closeout.
- Managing and tracking of procurement, especially long lead items as well as bulk materials procurement and timely delivery
- Ensure the project is fully compliant with all applicable HSEQ policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Electrical Trade background preferred
- Proven Construction management track record with min 10 years’ experience in Power Generation, Oil & Gas or Pharmaceutical Industries
- Diverse managerial know-how in managing and coordination of multiple disciplines
- Good understanding of commercial issue and experience in handling contract disputes
- Critical human relations skills in understanding, selecting, training, developing and motivating people
- Strong Analytical, problem-solving ability with adaptive and constructive thinking
- Safety Focus, experience in the enforcement of Safety Legislation and Corporate Safety Procedures and Requirements
- Assisting in prelims, estimation, constructability review and budget proposals
- Manage the earlier procurement of the packages to fast track the progress
- Plan and establish the site setting up and respective enabling works
- Responsible for shutdown & interface management on site
- Ensure the works perform compliance to Spec, COP and Project requirement
- Track and ensure that the overall progress is on or ahead of schedule and cost
- Maintenance of daily record of all activities, labour & plant and any non-compliance of materials and workmanship
- Close field monitoring to ensure quality of works delivery
- Ensure ITP and document compilation compliance
- Review Method Statement of Works
- Manage the Builder’s works e.g. Piling, Foundation, substructure & superstructure, architectural, external & infra-structure works, etc inclusive of respective M&E services
- Manage multiple trades as well as specialist vendor/contractors
- Manage the E&I contract, Mechanical and Heavy Equipment installation
- Manage respective sub-contractors and monitor progress and reporting
- Manage Walk-down, Punch-listing, Clearing and Closure
- Interface and close coordination with Client, EP team and other project team members
- Managing the pre-commissioning and commissioning works which may include IQ/OQ
- Manage the turnover and closure of the contract.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, and project management expertise to align design processes with client expectations and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
During Tender Phase:
- Coordinate design across engineering teams for all trades, including Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA), Mechanical, and Electrical.
- Manage the alignment of quotation coordination for accurate and timely bid submissions.
- Take ownership of a specific trade based on expertise.
- Facilitate technical responses to inquiries, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Contribute to project scheduling to align design timelines with tender requirements.
- Manage design processes in construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and distribution of design drawings.
- Act as the main client contact for design-related issues, building strong client relationships.
- Develop communication strategies to coordinate design teams and maintain smooth information flow.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Assess and manage design-related risks, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and sustainable building standards, such as BREEAM.
- Lead the design team, chairing meetings, writing reports, and presenting as needed.
- Strong design and technical expertise in CSA, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
- Experienced in project management with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Data Center (DC) design.
