Electrical Technician – LaPorte
 

**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team in LaPorte. This role requires an experienced technician to procure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with our maintenance and operations teams to support manufacturing and facility operations through effective preventative maintenance and calibration practices.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Procure, install, and troubleshoot a variety of electrical equipment, including systems operating at 1000 watts and 480V.
- Calibrate manufacturing instrumentation according to established procedures.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on manufacturing and building equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
- Plan, layout, and execute larger electrical projects as needed.
- Assist other maintenance technicians with assigned tasks.
- Complete and maintain accurate instrument tracking and calibration documentation.
- Support facility operations by completing assigned work orders.
- Participate in and complete required safety tasks, adhering to NEC guidelines and facility safety protocols.
- Develop and update procedures for instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance tasks.

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Diploma or certification from an accredited trade school in electrical technology or a related field.
- Demonstrated industrial experience with instrumentation and electrical equipment, including systems with 1000 watts and 480V.
- Relevant military training may be considered equivalent to industrial experience.
- Strong mechanical skills with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Proficient communication and computer skills.
- Ability to follow safe work practices and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Flexibility in job assignments, with availability for occasional night shift and weekend call-ins.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
