Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an Electrician to join their Maintenance & Reliability Team in Edmonton, AB for a 1-year contract.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Provide troubleshooting and problem solving with specific attention to safety, quality and plant production.
  • Troubleshoot and repair EHT circuits in live plant, Thermon and nVent systems.
  • Maintain, repair, test and installation of heat trace, VFD’s, UPS, Motors, Transformers, Switchgear and other assorted electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot 600V and 4160V motors and switchgear.
  • Follow lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures as required.
  • Participate in maintenance and project electrical installations as required.
  • Comply with Canadian Electrical Codes and OH&S Standards, safety training requirements and site and corporate safe operating practices.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Journeyman Electrical Ticket -- Minimum five (5) years experience as a Electrical Journeyman working in the oil and gas industry.
  • Previous experience in a live plant supporting Industrial Maintenance and/or Turnarounds.
  • EHT installation, troubleshooting experience, and experience with Thermon and nVent Controllers.
  • Experience with PLC and DCS control systems field wiring.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings (Loop drawings, Data sheets, Elementary, Panel Schedules)
  • Experience with Maximo work order processing is considered an asset.
  • Valid H2S, Fall Arrest, Man Lift, Arc Flash certifications/tickets considered be an asset.
  • Must be able to work overtime and accept callouts as required.
