Our client is seeking an Entry-Level Automation Technician I to work within their facilities located in Big Lake, TX on a 6-month assignment (with the possibility of extension depending on performance).

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains, installs, tests and repairs all devices associated with automation field operations processes and equipment.
  • Support company’s field operations throughout the Permian by ensuring that Company’s Safely 8760 and Stewardship 365 objectives are met and driven consistently at the field level. Expected to exemplify and enforce HSE policies. Be accountable for tasks being performed on locations to ensure safe work.
  • Once employed, a skill matrix coinciding with this description will be assigned that further defines the job duties for progression/promotion purposes.
  • Learns to calibrate, program, maintain and repair automation equipment at wells and facilities alongside an experienced technician.
  • Learns to troubleshoot malfunctions and repair control devices and communication equipment alongside an experienced technician.
  • Learns to move and install POCs (Pump Off Controllers) on rod wells alongside an experienced technician.
  • Learns to understand and operate SCADA systems.
  • Maintains required tracking for daily tasks and performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor, to include special projects.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Knowledgeable and understands basic electrical systems. Technical certification preferred.
  • 3.5 years of oil and gas experience or 2 years of automation experience with 1 year as a Lease Operator or equivalent experience/certification/degree in Automation systems.
  • A current valid vehicle operator’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Duties require close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Willing and able to work in hazardous environments.
  • Must be open to the employment of new procedures, technologies and equipment that have the capability of optimizing company's field operations and must have the capability of collecting and documenting any data necessary to evaluate new procedures, technologies and equipment as may be employed and tested from time to time. Must be adaptable to change, motivated and be a self-starter.

Work Schedule: 5/40 – Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
