Initial 1-year contract,on-site and part time (20-30 hours a week) :

• Work directly with the Director of Communications with a focus on external communication work to include website content and development, social responsibility (sponsorships, donations and volunteerism), external presentation reviews, crisis communication, stakeholder engagement, media relations and possibly help develop the site’s social media presence.
•  Collaborate with the Communications Director to develop and execute communications plans and campaigns for a wide array of activities - including stakeholder engagement, media relations, employee communications, social media, social investment and communications measurement
• Manage and develop communications resources and toolkits in support of the external plans, such as key message documents, power point presentations, crisis templates and various training materials
• Command of AP Style, while having strong and efficient writing competencies across digital and print platforms
• Develop, review and edit communications materials from other functional areas where applicable for accuracy, consistency, reviewing from a media lens and ensuring we protect the company reputation
•  Creating professional external content written and in partnership with graphic designer to execute creative concepts in alignment with brand standards
• Think several steps ahead and anticipates the needs of internal customers and external stakeholders 
• Support Public Information Officer in incident response communications.
• Align leaders on messaging, resources, upcoming events/activities, etc.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a communications professional in external affairs or public relations. 
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field.
• Writing skills with command of AP Style - samples required
• Experience working with subject matter and translating technical content into digestible communications for broad external audiences
• Experience in developing and executing external communications strategies – corporate social responsibility, external engagement, social media, media and content development.
• Preferred prior experience working in the manufacturing or related industry in a communications related field 
• Preferred prior experience in newspaper reporting role, but not required.
