Job Dimension

  • Referent for the company Road Transport Policy for vehicles based in Port Moresby
HSE and Personnel Statement – At all times the Job Holder will:
  • Ensures that the company HSE rules, regulations and standards are always considered in his/her activity and tasks
  • Ensures compliance of operations carried out by company is within the local rules and regulations
Activities
  • Maintain the company fleet vehicles, developing a schedule for servicing and replacement as required.
  • Supervise, deploy and monitor Contracted driver resources.
  • Prepare, deliver and promote road safety initiatives.
  • Deliver regular awareness campaign to contracted drivers.
  • Assists and coordinates driver resources during emergency situations.
  • Promote and assist in the implementation of company emergency & security response procedures.
  • Monitoring respect of driving rules and implement reward/sanction policy.
  • Prepares weekly reports and any other ad-hoc reports when requested by the management.
  • Monitor drivers roster to ensure fatigue management is adhered.
  • Review all incidents in tandem with Fleet Superintendent & Fleet Coordinator
Context and environment
The position is based in Port Moresby, as a resident, being 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Mon / Fri with weekend work as and when required, and with approval.
Accountabilities
  • A continuous improvement in the HSE performances of the affiliate
  • Assists affiliate in developing/ implementing its safe driving policy and emergency response capabilities.
Required Qualifications / Experience
  • College Diploma graduate or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in transportation and/or security company with knowledge of Road safety principles
  • Being a team player, focused on problem solving with good human relations
  • Good level of English
  • Good knowledge of MS Office/Excel/Power Point
  • Holds a PNG driver’s license – Class 3 & 6 (preferable but not essential)
