FPSO Materials, Welding and NDE Engineer

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek an FPSO Materials, Welding and NDE Engineer to work in their facilities located in Paris, France on a 12 months contract with the possibility of extension.  


Qualifications:
  • Confirmed Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in the same or equivalent position. 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Materials or Welding Engineering preferred) 
  • Knowledge of Ship Hull & Topside manufacturing processes and international standards
  • EWE/IWE (European/International Welding Engineer) Status or equivalent a plus
  • Languages: English is mandatory, French is a plus
Responsibilities Include:
  • Initially participate in the EPC Engineering phase by reviewing and commenting on engineering deliverables, and procurement specifications from a materials/welding/NDE perspective. This includes proactive assurance that EPC Contractor Group consistently implements all contractual requirements into design and specifications. 
  • Monitor the performance of EPC Contractors, Vendors, Fabricators/Manufacturers & Yard. 
  • Missions to fabrication/erection sites as and when required. 
  • Shall proactively assure that EPC Contractor Group & Subcontractors consistently and correctly deliver on all contractual requirements within the area of responsibility.  
  • Monitor Contractor implementation of Quality Management Systems and Quality Plans related to discipline.  
  • Ensure correct markup of site and vendor ITPs within the area of responsibility. 
  • Work closely with QC Personnel ensuring compliance to the acceptance criteria stipulated in ITPs. 
  • Monitor correct and timely execution of NDE and other activities such as PMI and ferrite testing. 
  • Actively participate in on-site and off-site discipline-related meetings when required. 
  • Proactively identify and report issues within the area of responsibility in a timely manner and provide resolution for management consideration. 
  • Input to Project Quality & Construction Documents related to discipline. 
  • Give sound advice on technical issues and proactively solve issues as they arise in order to protect product quality and project delivery schedule. 
  • Act as Subject matter expert for Materials, Welding & NDE-related issues & technical queries. 
  • Participate in setting discipline-related KPIs with contractors and sub-contractors. 
  • Participate in regular meetings with discipline leads from contractors and subcontractors related to discipline.  
  • Apply reporting structure with the contractor in order to identify issues related to quality and project delivery schedule. 
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities related to Materials, Welding & NDE carried out by the EPSCC contractor, focusing on the successful and timely execution of the project. 
  • Monitor and report on Contractors' and Sub-contractors’ performance.
