HSE SUPERVISOR
Location: Fos-sur-Mer, France
Contract duration: Initial 14-month contract - renewable

We are currently recruiting for a HSE Supervisor for a chemical project in Fos-sur-Mer, France. This is a contract role open to both portage and self-employed candidates on an initial 14-month contract with the possibility of extension. This will be a site-based role that would require you to be on site Monday – Friday and French speaking is a must.

Role & Responsibilities
  • As site HSE supervisor you would be responsible for enforcing the following in the field:
    • Local regulations.
    • Customer HSE requirements.
    • The internal HSE management system and program
  • Must be familiar with all internal HSE procedures and tools, as well as site regulations.
  • Participates in risk analyses in conjunction with contractors and the site.
  • Ensures that site HSE procedures are respected.
  • He/she takes part in meetings with the Company and any subcontractors and checks that HSE rules are applied daily.
  • Responsible for ensuring that on-site Company personnel:
    • Is fully familiar with TEN site prevention and safety rules and ensures that they are observed.
    • Wherever possible, improve working conditions to enhance safety.
  • The main tasks of the site HSE supervisor include the following (non-exhaustive list):
    • Participate in prevention plans.
    • Ensures proper application of the TEN site HSE plan.
    • He/she is the field safety supervisor for the TEN construction department and has the authority to stop work if he/she finds that a dangerous situation exists.

Role Requirements
  • Experience within industrial, civil, or technology-related construction sectors
  • Fluency in the French language (native or secondary) both verbal and written.
  • Competency in occupational H&S management systems (i.e. ISO 45001; OHSAS 18001).
  • Proven expertise in hazard risk assessment, safe method working statements, and post-incident root cause analysis.
  • Experience in the evaluation/auditing of Construction Safety Management Plans
