Our client, a Global Leader in the manufacturing of conveyor components, seeks an enthusiastic and experienced HSEQ Manager for their Bayswater facility. The role 

You will come from a strong Quality focused background with a hands-on approach and be the problem solver the client is looking for.  Ideal that you come from a manufacturing background and pose a coachable attitude. You will be managing a team of 4 plus support the leadership team – this is important to note that you must have management experience and strong communication skills.  The below bullet points are your duties but not limited too;
 
  • Provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality.
  • Develop quality-process links with customers in line with the Quality Management system (including ISO14001/ISO9001 / ISO45001), controls plans, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and supplier quality assurance (SQA) processes and oversee continued compliance and embedding across the business
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximise profit potential.
  • Work with the directors, managers, supervisors and employees to maintain a programme of continual improvement within their areas of responsibility.
  • Contribute to the creation of best practice in implementation of the quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Implement all relevant procedures described into the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
  • Respond to customer complaints and action this in a timely manner – full analysis, action, error proof and implement short-term/long-term countermeasures
  • Management of the Quality engineers and technicians in the sign-off or parts and the resolution of internal/external quality concerns
  • Lead regular inspection meetings to establish plans and improve quality
  • Set objective and KPI’s
  • Promote high standards, reporting must be at the highest level and be comfortable with managing this process
  • Work with the EHS Management system and environmental program
  • EHS side of the role is to ensure zero injuries and safety philosophy to ensure employees are equipped to enable a safe, healthy, accident free and environmentally responsible work environment.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and reviews, mine recuses, firefighting and first aid crews
  • Develop and implement EHS management plans and systems in compliance with clients and internal EHS procedures and systems
  • Coordinate and lead investigation of incidents
  • Occupational Health and Safety duties
  • Audit and review
  • Up-keep on the databases / systems
  • Inductions and trainings

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably Automotive or possible to consider construction industry (please note this isn’t a corporate / traditional role ideally you will want to join a family business with a global feel and be hands-on)
  • Quality focused and background high on the list for this role
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
  • A minimum of 3 years operational (manufacturing related) experience within a similar EHS role
  • Exposure to EHS management systems employed by major mining and/or manufacturing organisations a distinct advantage
  • Comprehensive knowledge EHS standards: federal, state and local legislation, codes of practice and Australian standards
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
