Are you ready to take on the role of Industrial Safety Engineer for a major oil and gas company in Lorient, France? As a contract employee for a period of 3 months, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the company's industrial facilities.
Role Overview
- Conduct hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP) and HAZAN modeling to identify potential risks
- Define ATEX zoning and implement safety philosophies for fire protection and gas detection systems
- Produce or update documents such as fire protection and safety equipment layout plans, PFD and PID of fire protection system, and hydraulic study of the network
- Collaborate with project manager and other departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Utilize Accidental Phenomena Modeling Software (PHAST) and hydraulic calculation software for fire network (e.g. PIPENET) to enhance system performance
- Ensure adherence to IMO naval design rules and French regulations on ICPEs
- Provide technical expertise in industrial safety engineering for the design of new facilities
- Conduct training and provide guidance on safety procedures and protocols
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all safety processes and procedures
- Strong understanding of industrial safety engineering principles and methods
- Experience in conducting hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP) and HAZAN modeling
- Knowledge of ATEX zoning and safety philosophies for fire protection and gas detection systems
- Familiarity with Accidental Phenomena Modeling Software (PHAST) and hydraulic calculation software for fire network (e.g. PIPENET)
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Understanding of IMO naval design rules and French regulations on ICPEs
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills for training and providing guidance on safety procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in safety-Industrial Processes or related field preferred
- Certification in ITIL or relevant Microsoft certifications advantageous
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial safety engineering for oil and gas/chemical production sectors
