The contractor is required to provide a named industrial safety specialist to support operations during the refueling outage. The specialist will work under the technical direction of the Contract Technical Representative, in accordance with the specific work release provided. The period of performance is noted above and may be subject to change as directed by the Contract Technical Representative.
The contractor’s industrial safety specialist will provide the following support as requested:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety and industrial hygiene inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
- Minimize liability by monitoring and enforcing safety compliance in accordance with Washington State regulations for contractors, subcontractors, and their employees.
- Review and familiarize with contractor liability as identified in the Department of Labor & Industries WISHA Regional Directive (WRD) 27.
- Assess facilities, equipment, and tasks to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Resolve safety and health-related problems and provide cost interpretations concerning policy and procedure compliance.
- Perform industrial safety analyses and evaluate areas of concern, such as fall exposure, chemical exposure, high noise environments, and lead-based coating removal.
- Respond to on-site medical emergencies and provide first aid as per individual certification protocols.
- Represent the Industrial Safety department in meetings, event investigations, and incident review boards, as assigned.
- Perform confined space monitoring, heat stress evaluations, and indoor air quality assessments, as qualified and requested.
- Provide industrial safety training, as qualified and directed by the Contract Technical Representative.
- Comply with all safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to the company’s Excellence Model.
