One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with seeking a qualified professional for the position of Electrical and Instrumentation Technician. 

Location: Cold Lake
Contract Duration: 6 months
Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off rotation; 10 hours per day, starting at 7 AM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct measurement, calibration, and routine checks on electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring adherence to established performance levels and product quality. (Please note that experience in measurement is crucial and will be considered a key differentiator for candidates.)
  • Perform regular oilfield training as required to stay updated on industry standards and safety practices.
  • Adhere to H2S safety procedures and work at heights; specific training will be provided.
  • Utilize computer systems for data management and reporting to document and verify problems and actions taken.
  • Ability to work locally (no FIFO required).

Additional Information:

  • Vehicle and PPE are required for the role (not provided by the company).

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree, preferably enhanced by related technical school courses.
  • Journeyman preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining electrical systems and instruments and controls in a processing plant or offshore production plant.
  • Familiarity with regulations applicable to oil and gas facilities.
  • Knowledge of OIMS systems, related manuals, and procedures.
  • Meets safety, administrative, and technical training requirements as documented in the company operations-approved training roadmap.
  • Possesses general competencies and Operations Integrity Critical competency requirements.
  • Strong computing skills.
  • Safety-oriented with good communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
