The Role: As a Lead Cost Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and success of our projects. You will:

  • Develop Precise Cost Forecasts: Create accurate cost forecasts by analyzing data and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Create Monthly Metrics: Produce monthly metrics for earned value, planned value, and actual costs to derive an accurate Estimate at Completion (EAC) while assessing cost performance and schedule performance indicators.
  • Generate Detailed Calculations: Calculate the Value of Work Done (VOWD) with precision, along with forecast reports and trend data for benchmarking and producing LEs and OPs.
  • Draft Project Change Requests: Assist or lead in drafting Project Change Requests in line with our change management procedures.
  • Excel Proficiency: Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and handling large datasets.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and PowerBi is a plus.
  • Leadership Experience: Bring your experience in leadership or senior roles, with a background in managing and training cost engineers.
  • Collaborate with Planning Engineers: Ensure alignment between contractor and internal schedules in Primavera P6 and other systems with cost data.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in cost engineering, with a strong track record of delivering accurate cost forecasts and metrics.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to apply complex formulas and manage large datasets.
  • Experience with VBA and PowerBi is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and training cost engineers.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with planning engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.
