We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Lead of Quality Engineer - CO2. The role is responsible to deliver the implementation of the quality programs and activities across Project Disciplines (Materials, Welding, NDT, Inspection & Testing, Piping, Pipeline, Mech, Civil, Structure, Electrical & Instrument, Telecom and Painting) for mega projects (Greenfield & Brownfield) in the LNG, CO2, Sour Gas Plant/Facility. Responsible for leading and managing a team of quality engineers, inspectors and agents responsible for all aspects of quality for CO2 Sequestration Project.
This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis 6-days per week / 10 hours per day. Please see details below:
Title: Lead of Quality Engineer - CO2 Sequestration Project
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)
Location: Site (Ras Laffan Industrial City), Qatar
Working Schedule: 6-days per week / 10 hours per day
Key Accountabilities:
- Reports to Quality Division Manager
- Leads the Quality program for Company surveillance of Contractor and its Vendors/Subcontractors during execution of the multidiscipline work.
- Verify project quality requirements and inspection & test plan, procedures and reports for multidiscipline.
- Monitoring, tracking, solving project deficiencies, gaps and reporting of quality KPIs, Metrics to the management team.
- Implement and monitors key processes such as Deficiency Reporting, Specification Deviation Request, Non-conformance Request, Corrective Action Reports etc.
- Ensure application of project specifications, design, international codes, standards, and procedures, best practices for Quality control, quality requirements on site, shop, vendor, FAT.
- Provide technical input the review of Nonconformance, Root Cause Analysis and monitor rework/ close as required.
- Participate in factory/site acceptance test for Vendor packages.
- Works in a dynamic team environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, and schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy, initiative, and the ability to multi-task as essential skills.
- Attends Pre-Inspection meetings (PIM) & kick off meetings (KOM) as required to provide quality support and advice on quality deliverables.
- Responsible for the integrity and fit for service of all goods and services to ensure cost effective, reliability and safe operations.
- Participate to Project Audits and monitor effective follow up and closure of Audit findings.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 10 years’ experience with Quality Management Programs and Quality Control, Inspection activities for multi disciplines execution of mega projects in the Oil and Gas Construction Industry.
- Associates Engineering or University Degree (preferably Mechanical/Welding/Metallurgy)
- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
