Airswift is seeking a Mechanical Technician to work on a 12-month assignment (subject to extension) in Stanton, TX, on a 5/40 schedule.
Technicians are assigned to carry out maintenance work, either as employees or contractor resources. Typically reports to a supervisor.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist mechanical engineers in planning and testing mechanical components, equipment, and machinery (e.g., engines, instruments, controls, robots).
- Help prepare proposals and cost estimates.
- Actively participate in the use of all on-the-job safety tools.
- Review job packs.
- Identify and address safety issues before starting work.
- Execute work as planned.
- Record technical history as required (e.g., Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheets).
- Provide feedback on job pack improvements to the Execution FLS.
- Request permits and notify the supervisor if a permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Discipline-appropriate certifications or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend remediation steps.
- Team player with the ability to work effectively with others, even without direct authority, and willingness to assist colleagues.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
