We are seeking an experienced Operator to join our team at a major facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Role Overview

  • Maintain care and control of the site as a Facility Operator.
  • Follow Keyera's corporate initiatives, including Safe Operating Practices and Guidelines.
  • Participate in the development of the site's safety culture.
  • Oversee the operation of facility process equipment, such as pumps, vessels, and gas chromatograph.
  • Be in direct contact with the Control Center as a Facility Operator.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Emergency Response Exercise drills.
  • Prepare, review, and sign work permits for employees and contractors.
  • Conduct Pre-job Meetings and supervise work performed by third-party services.
  • Actively participate and lead Health, Safety & Environment Site meetings.
  • Mentor and lead junior operators on site.
  • Identify and report mechanical defects on process equipment and mobile equipment.
  • Keep Geometrix and the Track Sheet current.
  • Complete final inspection and sign off on railcars ready for site release.
  • Act as a relief operator for next-level competency.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Operator background with experience in safe operating practices, emergency response exercises, work permits, health, safety & environment, mechanical defects, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software programs.
  • Ability to read and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Experience in rail operations is an asset.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certifications in relevant areas, such as Power Engineering or NGP III, are advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
