On behalf of our customers, we are currently recruiting for a Piping Support Designer to be placed in Schiedam and would be on a 12-months contract with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities - Piping Designer
- Utilize technical knowledge and software tools to clearly depict the design that can be easily and correctly interpreted by others.
- Communicate with Engineers and/or Lead Designer to ensure design intent is understood to avoid rework.
- Plan and deliver assigned tasks accurately within the agreed time frame.
- Prioritize activities and effectively manage conflicting deadlines ensuring continued progress to meet the schedule. Proactively provide Lead Designer with status updates.
- Organize documents and deliverables so they are easy to understand and locate.
- Collaborate with Engineers and other Designers to share information, produce a high-quality product, and resolve design conflicts.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Designer/Engineer to minimize delays in deliverables.
- The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
- Completion of design/drawing against budget and schedule.
- Functionality/constructability/manufacturability of design.
Responsibilities – Piping Support Designer
*The main scope of the pipe support team is to provide the standard detail drawings for all pipe supports and its associated items, in accordance with the company’s design standard, that enables the construction yards to fabricate and install the pipe support scope. The complete scope can be divided into 3D modelling (Frames and ancillaries), 2D pipe support drawings, and 1D Documentation, (Structural calculations). Linked to the various project phases, the scope for Pipe supports will increase from High level (interfaces with Structural discipline) to detail design.
- Responsible for completing the design of pipe supports in the assigned area.
- Responsible for 3D modelling and the preparation of all pipe support deliverables. This
includes calculations for the frames within the company’s pipe support guideline and its
respective trimmer beams. - Responsible for checking and approving pipe support detail drawings before they are
released for fabrication. - Responsible for checking and approving pipe support ancillaries on isometrics before
they are released for fabrication.
