Overview
We are currently recruiting a Principal SESA Consultant to initiate and sustain the growth of a Transport consultancy specialising in Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance services. Their client base operates primarily across commuter services including rail, light rail and bus operation.

You will require strong personal contacts within QLD Rail industry, particularly with TMR, QR, and Tier 1 contractors and various operators. Exposure to other industries which require SESA services such as Aviation, Defence, Renewable Energy would be advantageous.

Location-            Brisbane, QLD
Duration-            Permanent
Salary-              $190,000 - $240,000 total package including super + bonus

Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver high-quality Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance (SESA) services for rail and infrastructure projects
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, preparing bids, proposals, and tenders to secure contracts in the rail and transport sectors.
  • Manage safety assessments, hazard analyses, risk assessments, and verification and validation processes in compliance with EN standards e.g. 50126/50128/50129).
  • Drive the development and implementation of safety assurance plans, ensuring all projects meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and project teams, to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or similar
  • Must be eligible for RPEQ status
  • Proven track record of work-winning within QLD rail sector
  • Well-known by key decision makers within public and private rail entities
  • An appreciation / understanding of systems engineering and safety assurance principles
  • Ability to lead the production of tenders / bids / offers
  • Deep knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including EN 50126/50128/50129, IEC 61508
