Chevron Australia Business Unit (ABU) has an exciting opportunity for a technical brownfield project controls analyst to join the Chevron Australia brownfield cost engineering team. 


More detailed role expectations include:

  • Implements cost control, cost risk, contingency and CEMOC procedures, processes and standards.
  • Collaborates with Planning to implement Work (WBS), Organizational Breakdown Structures (OBS) and linkage of these to Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for the selected work scopes.
  • Advises/guides Technical Projects teams in cost, cost trending, cost risk activities to ensure the work scopes meets or betters the approved targets and requirements.
  • Articulates cost issues; proposes preventative or mitigation measures for selected work scopes.
  • Reviews, validates, & challenges contractors’ contract costs, cost risks and opportunities, trends.
  • Participate in benchmarking, incorporation of lessons learned, & establish cost Competitive Performance targets for selected work scopes.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the brownfield projects cost system and associated reporting for selected work scopes.
    • Independently identifies and works with interfaces and stakeholders to identify and resolve issues for selected work scopes.
  • Assess and coordinate cost impact for Management of Change requests for nominated work scope in line with change management procedures.
  • Works with Planning and Scheduling on progress and performance measurement, monitoring, and analysis for selected work scopes.
  • Coordinate Benchmarking, incorporation of lessons learned, and establish comparators to reference projects for selected work scopes.
  • Generates cost reports including variance and trending as required.
  • Develop, implement and enable continuous improvement of standardized, repeatable and consistent Cost processes, playbooks and digital analytic tools to enhance cost engineering methods.
  • Communicate with stakeholders (e.g. Planning, Finance, SCM), to ensure aligned system data across multiple areas/systems.
     

Requirements:

This position requires an experienced project control analyst (preferably with 8-10 years oil & gas experience) who has strong involvement in projects control and project reporting, and needs a proactive, process and details-oriented individual who can work with people and be able to recognize and work through hurdles, able to find resolutions to issues.
