Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a R&D Lab Technician to work a 1-year contract with possible extension in Aurora, NC.
This Laboratory Technician position is responsible for sample retrieving in the field, preparation of sampling, and reporting. In addition, with this being a start-up plant, the lab tech will be responsible for assisting in creation of the processes, SOPs and development of the lab.
This is a 12-hour shift rotating shift. Airswift will be happy to discuss further the rotation schedule for this opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Perform lab activities, such as setting up lab equipment and preparing chemical solutions.
- Conduct tests, interpret and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present conclusions.
- Must document every test results carefully. During the research and testing phases, need to accurately record all variables, such as chemical type, amount, compound components, chemical temperature and test duration.
- Must also adhere to safety standards during laboratory testing, such as wearing protective clothing and taking additional precautions as needed.
- Improve current formulations of products when needed.
- Calibration of equipment

Working closely with a collaborative team, you will deliver efficient and safe project outcomes while ensuring high standards and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand needs, ask critical questions, and serve as a technical partner.
- Develop project plans and schedules with internal and client teams.
- Create detailed 3D designs based on technical schematics and process descriptions.
- Integrate various sub-components within installations for cohesive operation.
- Design and construct skid systems to facilitate seamless installation and transportation.
- Implement rigorous design and testing procedures for safe, reliable operations.

Airswift has been tasked by one of its chemical clients to look for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to work a long-term contract in Plaquemine, LA.
The Rotating Equipment Engineer will be responsible for provide technical assistance to the maintenance supervision in the repair and improvement of all process equipment throughout the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the site rotating equipment condition-monitoring program (vibration/oil analysis/thermography/etc.), including ensuring timely inspections, review of condition reports, and recommendation for equipment repair or replacement.
- Develop and improve maintenance procedures and programs (lubrication, mechanical seals, etc. for maintenance of rotating equipment in the Complex.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis (i.e. root cause analysis) to determine and correct equipment problems and prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and utilize metrics to identify issues, prioritize efforts to develop solutions, and justify spending on improvements.
- Use industry accepted asset reliability methodologies to improve overall uptime of process equipment.
- Follow equipment repair in shops to ensure timely and proper repair.
- Actively participate in process improvement programs such as Six Sigma, etc.
- Participates in the PACE culture of safety and demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behaviour and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
- Assist in development of training for millwrights in the Complex.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required (PE, CMRP, a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance/reliability work in the petrochemical industry.
- Significant experience with rotating equipment
- Knowledge of pumps, seals, shop processes, ASME code, corrosion, metallurgy, turbines, centrifugal compressors and fans, and lubrication is required
- Familiar with OSHA’s process safety management standard regarding mechanical integrity.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office; should also have a working knowledge of a CMMS database program.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; aggressive problem-solving ability
- Strong work planning and organizational skills required
- Self-motivated. Able to work independently and as a team player.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
