Airswift has been Tasked to find a COATING/PAINTING INSULATION SPECIALIST / QC Advisor Coating & Insulation to work for one of our major costumers based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

- Workstation: Site Based (lot 2 and lot 3)
- Open to: Locals Only (Tanzanians)
ACTIVITIES
- Directly supporting EACOP & the CONTRACTORs ensuring delivery of the pipeline and associated AGI, MST facilities and EITS infrastructure are on-time and to budget.
- Implement, use, and communicate safe work practices on and off the Project Sites.
- Mentor exemplary behaviour regarding Project H3SE policy.
- Support CONTRACTOR Construction Engineering in accordance project requirements and procedures.
- Assist CONTRACTOR for the correct interpretation of the drawings, providing support in the solution of technical problems.
- Along with Field Engineering, check CONTRACTOR method statements and work procedures.
- Coordinate and monitor work fronts to achieve project schedule and progress objectives.
- Ensure CONTRACTOR to comply with coating, fireproofing and insulation process as per Project specification and requirements.
- Together with the Site Quality Manager, coordinate the required inspections and testing ensuring that hold points of the ITPs are witnessed.
- Ensure that all the coating workforce is suitably trained and competent to perform the work.
- Ensure that all sand blasting, coating and fireproofing equipment are properly maintained in good order with daily checks.
- Ensure that all painting and insulation are properly preserved as per Supplier’s recommendations.
- Manage work acceptance operations and follow-up of the punch lists.
- Monitor all the manual coating, holiday detection and coating repairs.
- Ensure that the application is in line with the Manufacturer recommendations.
- Ensure that the CONTRACTOR handle the storage of the materials in term of weather control, expiration dates and provision of the materials stock.
- Ensure that the CONTRACTOR set the proper facilities and provide adequate equipment’s and calibrated tools.
- Ensure that the CONTRACTOR will follow and implement appropriate training programs and qualification of the operators.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review validity of any Contractors extra works request and pay particular attention to the supervision of the relevant activities.
- To ensure compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specification.
- Assist QS for measure the physical progress of the works in charge on a daily/weekly basis for progress report issue.
- Make sure that the Contractor submits his daily reports regarding equipment and manpower and carefully check that information are correct and comply with the agreed procedures.
- Proactively undertake and promote the use of behavioural and incentivised HSE work programmes, and campaigns
- Ensure all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available as required, all in accordance with contractors’ agreed ITP, method statements and project specifications
- Ensure contractors follow approved procedures, plans and method statements.
- Ensure the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Ensure that all construction milestone dates are completed as scheduled.
- Ensure that all construction activities meet quality and workmanship standards.
- Ensure required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site.
- Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress.
- Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas, as instructed by project management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification combined with extensive field experience in Coating Systems and application.
- A minimum of 10 years greenfield site construction experience in Oil & Gas or Hydrocarbon projects
- A minimum of 5 years as Coating Supervision.
- Certified NACE CIP or equivalent: BGAS-CSWIP, FROSIO.
- Competency within industry applications such as MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Knowledge of related industry Codes and Standards
- Demonstrate proficiency in the interpretation of engineering drawings, plans and specifications.
- Understanding of critical path and key milestones within the construction planning programs.
- A high focus on identifying and meeting the key project deliverables and objectives.
- Advanced written and spoken English.
- Effective leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, planning and organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
- Previous experience working with multicultural contractors' and reporting their performance.
- Autonomous, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to change or shifting priorities
