Overview
We are currently recruiting a Systems Assurance Manager to work on a major rail project in QLD.  The role ensures effective safety assurance systems are in place to meet business objectives and comply with system safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Location-          Brisbane CBD
Duration-          Permanent
Salary-              $195,000 - $205,000 + Super

Responsibilities
  • Lead Systems and Safety Assurance activities across major rail and rolling stock projects
  • Manage and provide support, guidance and mentorship to the wider SESA team including assignment of resources to deliver projects within budget.
  • Confidently interact and engage with both internal and external stakeholders – particularly Independent Safety Assessors / Certifiers
  • Planning, analysis, hazard management and reporting of Systems assurance outcomes within engineering and construction frameworks
  • Ensure life cycle safety assurance and compliance with relevant codes and standards incl. AS61508, ISO 15288 and CENELEC group of standards e.g. EN50126/8/9
  • Coordinate delivery of hazard and safety in design activities, assessments, and reporting 
  • Develop associated safety cases and SFAIRP arguments in support of design type, testing and commissioning approvals, representing arguments to stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, operations, asset maintainers
 
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Eligible for RPEQ)
  • 8+ years System Safety engineering experience, including at least 5 years within Rail or Rolling Stock domain
  • Safety Experience with application experience of CENELEC standards - EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129
  • Robust knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-Lifecycle
  • Understanding of interfaces/disciplines within Rail such as Rolling Stock and Signalling Systems
  • Ability to produce safety analyses and documentation (such as Goal Structured Notation (GSN), PHA, SHA, IHA, ETA, FTA, QRA, Safety Cases)
  • An understanding of RAM / Human factors is desirable
  • Previous management experience
  • Australian working rights
