Overview
We are currently recruiting a Senior Data Analyst with MATLAB and signal processing expertise to work for a globally renowned OEM specialising in freight and passenger rail solutions, covering signalling, rolling stock, aftermarket equipment and monitoring systems.

This role is responsible for the ongoing delivery and development of the company’s suite of trackside software products. Experience with software development or condition monitoring systems is highly desirable.

Location-        Adelaide, Perth or Brisbane
Duration-        Permanent
Salary-          $140,000 - $145,000 + Super

Responsibilities
  •  Perform advanced data analysis, statistical modeling, and algorithm development, primarily using MATLAB, with a focus on signal processing.
  • Design and implement signal processing algorithms for various applications, including filtering, time-frequency analysis, and feature extraction from complex datasets.
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable insights that drive decision-making, process optimization, and product development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and project managers, to solve complex problems and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Present findings and reports to stakeholders, ensuring data-driven decisions are supported with clear, concise communication.
  • Develop and automate data processing pipelines to improve the efficiency and scalability of analysis workflows.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Troubleshooting and engineering support
  • Conceptualize, develop, test and implement new features in the data acquisition, processing and reporting software.
  • High and Low level design, including the design of data acquisition systems and the selection of appropriate sensors
  • Improve the integration of new sensor technology into existing product portfolio
Required Experience
  • Bachelors in Computer Science /Electronics/ Electrical/Mechanical.., engineering or equivalent proven industry experience in Data Acquisition and signal processing
  • Advanced skills in the MATLAB programming platform
  • Experience in heavy industry domain such as Rail, Automotive, Mining, Industrial, Aerospace/Aviation
  • Detailed, in-depth understanding of SDLC
  • Experience with electrical systems / vibration / acoustics technology highly desirable
