Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a Senior Geophysicist, to work in their facilities located in Aberdeen, UK.

Summary
The Senior Geophysicist is responsible for conducting seismic interpretation to contribute to reservoir modeling, assessing depth velocity models for accurate reservoir characterization, and utilizing attributes to define reservoir properties effectively. Manages geophysical studies, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to identify drilling opportunities, and supports the company's process
of change. Additionally, leads front-end activities for development projects, serves as a peer reviewer for technical assessments and participates in multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated reservoir management.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Conduct seismic interpretation (structural and stratigraphic) to contribute to reservoir models for assigned fields and discoveries
- Assess depth velocity models and associated uncertainties to ensure accurate reservoir characterization
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative attributes to define reservoir properties effectively
- Manage geophysical studies conducted by both in-house teams and third-party contractors
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary sub-surface team members to identify new drilling and intervention opportunities
- Support the company's process of change and continuous improvement
- Lead and coordinate front-end activities for development projects as needed
- Serve as a peer reviewer when required for technical assessments
- Interpret and map 3D seismic datasets for producing fields and discoveries throughout development phases
- Generate drilling opportunities and evaluate well results to optimize production
- Participate in multidisciplinary project teams to ensure integrated reservoir management
- Provide input for enhanced processing of seismic datasets and quantitative interpretation projects
- Conduct data room evaluations for potential farm-in opportunities
- Perform other duties within the scope of expertise and status as needed to support business objectives
Professional Skills and Experiences
- Substantial oil industry experience, preferably with an operating company
- Strong technical background in seismic interpretation
- Up-to-date knowledge of interpretation in Petrel software packages preferred including seismic plugins in Petrel
- Solid understanding of Seismic Processing and Acquisition
- Good knowledge of other interpretation / seismic modeling tools like Hampson Russel and/or Geoteric
- Solid understanding of other subsurface disciplines.
Educational Qualification and Certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics is required
