About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Piping Engineer to join the team in Kwinana and contribute to a meaningful, sustainability-focused project. This role is part of a transformative initiative where an existing oil refinery is being redeveloped into an integrated energy hub, focusing on the production of biofuels and renewable hydrogen. This project is one of several global biofuel ventures, with a goal to produce approximately 100,000 barrels of biofuels daily by 2030.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project requirements, assign tasks, and monitor progress.
  • Ensure services meet company, client, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the mechanical/piping team.
  • Prepare hours estimates and deliverables for various projects.
  • Participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow established procedures.
  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide training and mentorship to the discipline team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: Extensive technical and leadership experience in mechanical/piping within brownfield oil refinery or terminal sites.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Extensive working knowledge of ASME, API & TEMA standards for typical oil and gas related equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, process piping, pumps and compressors.
    • Experience managing equipment packages, documentation, and review.
    • Familiarity with Australian Standards for the oil and gas industry.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
    • Excellent time management, adaptability, and attention to detail.
    • Effective verbal and written communication, able to present information to various audiences.
  • Personal Qualities: Proactive, integrity-driven, goal-oriented, and solution-focused with a willingness to learn and improve continuously.
