Role Responsibilities
As a Senior NPI Designer, you will be responsible to bringing your NPI design experience gained either in the iron ore industry or other related industries, to help deliver and execute a long life and highly complex iron ore mine of the future. Reporting to the NPI Area Manager, you'll handle all design aspects for NPI facilities, including temporary and permanent camps, refueling stations, MEM workshops, and connecting road networks.
This may include responsibilities but not limited to:
- Manage design interfaces across disciplines and ensure integration within the model.
- Provide design input for layouts and detailed drawings within D&C packages.
- Update project drawings based on vendor D&C data and designs.
- Develop approval drawings as needed.
- Create 2D drawings using MicroStation.
- Support coordination of workshare among various offices.
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration to meet customer requirements.
- Awarded a 2- or 3-year technical diploma with relevant training or equivalent experience.
- 8-15+ years of civil or structural design experience in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
- Experience on medium to large projects in a multidisciplinary environment is desirable but not essential.
- Resource sector experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong technical proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling, with expertise in MicroStation.
- General knowledge across NPI, earthworks, piping, electrical, and communications.
- Background in architectural drafting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with civil design software like 12D is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in road design or large earthworks projects is a plus.
- Worked with teams from diverse backgrounds.
