We are currently recruiting for a Lead Piping Engineer to be placed in Meerssen and would be on a 12-month contract which will become a staff role following. The main function is to oversee small to medium-sized petrochemical projects, primarily in brownfield environments. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and managing all piping-related aspects, ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and safety of the established designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate pipeline design for petrochemical plants, with a focus on brownfield projects.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and material take-offs (MTO).
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets and schedules effectively.
- Facilitate collaboration among various disciplines within the project team.
- Supervise junior piping engineers and foster knowledge transfer.
- Conduct risk analyses and implement appropriate security measures.
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the (petro-)chemical industry, with a proven track record in a lead engineer role within the piping discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of required software packages (e.g., AutoCAD, E3D).
- Familiarity with international standards, including EN, ASME, API, and ASTM.
- Experience in project management and leading engineering teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English; fluency in English is essential, while Dutch is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
- Construction support experience and knowledge of international rules and regulations are preferred.
