We are seeking a Senior Safety Assurance Engineer to work across a pipeline of rail projects in Australia. Considerable experience in System Safety Assurance in Rail or Defence is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance across various projects in rail, energy or defence.
- Engage with clients to support project scoping, requirements, and solution development.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and help expand our SESA services across multiple industries.
- Develop associated safety cases and SFAIRP arguments in support of design type, testing and commissioning approvals, representing arguments to stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, operations, asset maintainers.
- Support and manage CCBs
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 8+ years System Safety engineering experience
- Safety Experience with application experience of CENELEC standards - EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129
- Robust knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-Lifecycle
- Ability to produce safety analyses and documentation (such as Goal Structured Notation (GSN), PHA, SHA, IHA, ETA, FTA, QRA, Safety Cases)
- Understanding of Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, RAM, Human factors, Cybersecurity is desirable
- Familiar with software such as DOORS (Classic or NG)

Airswift is working with a leading company for a Flow Assurance Engineer to work in Houston, TX for a 12-month assignment with benefits!
Responsibilities could include the following:
- Deliver process engineering services that meet Company, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Perform flow assurance engineering services such as:
- Steady state and transient multiphase flow simulations, heat transfer and flash calculations on PC- based software packages (with emphasis on using OLGA & PVTsim).
- Hydrocarbon fluid characterization.
- Analyze results of the simulations and recommend optimum hydraulic operating conditions.
- Identify and report changes to project scope.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations, and reports
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in flow assurance engineering.
- Communicate effectively with the engineering team and project stakeholders, including Customers.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Company and its customers.
- Good working knowledge of the fundamental requirements of process engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- Strong fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer knowledge
- Good working knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
- Engineering experience in the same or similar industry and developing leadership skills.
- Experience developing machine learning algorithms and data analysis tools.
- Familiar with CCUS and CO2 transportation modeling concepts
We are currently seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant (Rail Operations Modelling) for our client who are expanding their Transport Advisory team. They have a diverse range of significant projects particularly within QLD and NSW.
Location- Brisbane (or Sydney)

Responsibilities
- Provide expert advisory services, drawing on your technical expertise in operations across passenger rail, heavy haul and bus transit.
- Develop Concepts of Operations and associated operational requirements.
- Contribute to rail operational and infrastructure planning, corridor and network capacity analysis, performance assessment, and option analysis (including rolling stock)
- Provide expertise in rail operations simulation tools such as RailSys or OpenTrack
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and tailor modelling solutions accordingly (client-facing)
- Relevant Degree e.g. Engineering, Transport Planning or similar
- Proven experience in rail operations modelling within the transport sector.
- Proficiency with rail operations simulation tools such as RailSys or OpenTrack
- Previous experience operating in a consultative / client-facing role
