Our client, a major Oil and Gas client, is looking for a Sr. Pipeline Hydraulics Engineer to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary. The subject position is responsible for supporting in-house pipeline hydraulic modeling development and hydraulic analysis requested by various stakeholders including operation, integrity, business development and projects.
Primary Deliverables:
- Develop and maintain both steady state and transient hydraulic models for both LI and G&P pipeline systems.
- Build in-house pipeline hydraulics database, standards and procedures as well as coordinate training events.
- Provide hydraulic evaluation support to address safety concerns, performance challenges and management of changes in the existing pipeline operation and new pipeline commissioning.
- Collaborate with pipeline integrity team by providing hydraulic inputs to integrity analysis.
- Work closely with business development to identify the feasible options from the pipeline hydraulics perspective.
- Support pipeline steady state and transient analysis as required through all project stages.
- Provide quality assurance for the pipeline hydraulic modeling and analysis conducted by the team members, process engineers outside of the team and external contractors.
- Lead pipeline hydraulic team and best utilize the resource to meet the needs from different stakeholders.
- Lead pipeline hydraulics related discussions in both internal and external project meetings, design reviews and PHAs.
- Mentor junior engineers in pipeline hydraulics related tasks.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree from accredited university and registered Professional Engineer in Alberta (15 – 20 yrs).
- Progressive experience in pipeline/terminal steady state and transient hydraulic analysis as well as midstream facility process engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in different pipeline systems such as mainlines, laterals, gathering network and broad range of shipping products in liquid, gas and multiphases.
- Proficiency in hydraulic simulation software including PIPESIM, DNV Synergi Pipeline Simulator & AFT Fathom.
- Working knowledge in HYSYS simulation and other process calculations involving fluid properties characterization, line sizing and pressure drop estimate, heat loss study, control valve sizing, etc..
