SUMMARY ABOUT THE ROLE
Based within the Carbon Services group in New Energy, the Angel Carbon Capture and Storage Project is entering the Concept Define phase looking to deliver the first CCS operated opportunity for Woodside. The scope is a Subsea tie back to shore with a new purpose-built pipeline (20” or 24” nominal diameter) with a subsea system up to 6 wells (3 at RFSU) and a monitoring well. This is a new business that offers the potential to deliver serious carbon abatement to our base business and local Pilbara industry aligned with the corporate strategy and targets to THRIVE through the energy transition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The subsea control system will be closely integrated with the onshore controls system to manage the phase of the CO2 within the onshore and offshore pipeline systems.
- Subsea Controls Engineer: Develop the subsea controls solution for the field within the following frame:
• The reference case option of a EH umbilical to shore
• Optional case of EH to NRC
• Optional Case of All-Electric to NRC
• Optional case utilising a lightweight controls and power buoy - Deliver a system utilising Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) to allow in process Seismic monitoring of the injected CO2 within the formation.
- Simplify the system and highlight what we can do differently from a standard oil and gas subsea development.
- The role will report directly to the Technical Manager for Concept Define but will report to a subsea delivery manager from FEED onwards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Subsea Controls Engineering experience in definition, procurement, detail design, installation and commissioning with an eye for new product development and system engineering. Experience of topside integration and equipment qualification is preferred.
- Input to a development of a RAM model and high integrity controls.
- Experience with scoping work to be executed by external parties or engineering contractors
- Experience working in multi-discipline environment and demonstrated ability to interface effectively
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management
