Job Description:
- The SURF PBF package team will work on all the ongoing PBF projects through a SURF transverse organization. The Service holder will work on several projects at different stage at the same time. The Service holder shall be able to work easily in a transverse team.
- The Service holder is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regard to H3SE rules and requirements and for ensuring their implementation within his/her scope of responsibility.
- The Service holder is in charge, within the SURF team and under the responsibility of the Technical Leader of activities related to Material (Non-Destructive Examination / material selection, etc), Corrosion and Welding (the disciplines).
- The Service holder will ensure, during detailed engineering, procurement and construction phases, that all deliverables and documents (both internal and external) related to the disciplines and subjects he is in charge of are timely issued and fit for purpose. He shall ensure compliance of Contractors’ deliverables and documents with Company H3SE requirements and specifications, with applicable codes and standards and best engineering practices, and with Project specifications wrt these disciplines. He will review deviations to Company specifications or deviations requests/technical queries.
- The Service holder will be the Contractor’s point of contact for all matters related to the disciplines and subjects he is in charge of.
- The Service holder will participate in the management of disciplines-related engineering interfaces with other concerned disciplines/packages. He is responsible for monitoring the engineering of the disciplines and subjects he is in charge of. He will timely and actively liaise with other specialists of the SURF team in order to ensure consistency of the works.
- The Service holder will also participate in the follow-up of the SURF procurement and construction on yard for the disciplines and subjects he is in charge of. He will remain, with regards to the disciplines and subjects he is in charge of,the correspondent for engineering, procurement and construction occurring problems, and for any advice to be given or technical deviation request to be analyzed and answered.
- To liaise as necessary with the SURF Interface Engineer for the management of interfaces related to the disciplines.
- To ensure confidentiality of all the disciplines-related documentation produced (whatever its support).
- To gather, as requested, ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to the Engineering and Procurement Leader and other companie’s entities as required.
- To ensure that safe working practices are used within the team along all phases of project.
- To ensure that state of the art, TEPA referential and local rules/laws are complied with and captured in all contractual requirements (during CCFT stage).
- To promote good enough approach and innovation for all activities. To seek optimization and savings all along the different phases of the project. To focus on costs without impairing QHSE objectives.
- To issue and maintain all the necessary technical documentation related to the disciplines.
- To ensure that contractual scope of work is duly and timely performed by Contractor.
- To ensure daily liaison with Contractor with regards to disciplines-related matters.
- To participate to weekly and/or monthly coordination meetings with Contractor as appropriate.
- To ensure follow-up / review / validation of progress performed by Contractor with regards to his disciplines and analyse/report drifts that could occur and propose remedial solutions.
- To supervise and control the detailed engineering by timely reviewing the disciplines-related documentation issued by Contractor (WPS / WPQR / technical documentation / queries / derogation requests...), to ensure compliance with Project Specifications and Procedures (when applicable), international norms and standards with the objective to ensure respect of the schedule and to optimise costs without impacting required level of Quality and Safety.
- To raise consequently necessary comments and highlight unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, constructability issues.
- To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the Engineering and Procurement Leader (progress, concerns), and, as a general manner, anticipates problems, potential optimizations or improvements and offers solutions with regards to his/her disciplines.
- To participate to project reviews as requested by Company requirements (HAZOP, HAZID, PR...) and prepare or participate in Safety / Technical Audits for his/her disciplines.
- To liaise and interface actively with other SURF specialists regarding the disciplines-related matters and on all engineering, procurement, constructability, operability and maintainability matters, in order to ensure consistency of the work.
- To assist Company Representatives at fabrication sites, in particular:
- Witness of welding operations, welding operator qualification and equipment, including acceptance criteria.
- Review of NDE techniques and NDE Operatives and acceptance criteria.
- Assessment and evaluation of welding environment and facilities, including arrangements for personnel protection and HSE.
- Examination and assessment of materials and consumables.
- Attendance at Independent, Third Party “Test-House” to witness mechanical testing (e.g. CTOD, Charpy V, Proof and Tensile Testing).
- Review and approval of any “Special Processes” (Heat Treatment, Induction Bending, Pickling, Passivating etc.).
- To participate to the resolution of any discipline-related problem occurring during the Execution Phase, to review and give recommendation on technical deviation requests and to keep updated the documentation related to the disciplines.
- To suggest / organise / participate to all necessary inspections and give advice on the matter with regards to disciplines related matters.
- PBF is the brownfield project division of companie’s and benefits of a matrix organization. It’s managing projects from FEED/Basic Engineering to Startup/ hand-over to Block Field Operation teams.
- The nature of the brownfield projects, i.e. most of the execution activities offshore are executed in SIMOPS on live FPSOs (Girassol, Dalia, Pazflor, CLOV on Block 17 and Kaombo Norte and Sul on Block 32) and congested seabed, increases the risks and consequently the challenges of the projects (co-activities with other projects and maintenance activities, minimization of production shortfalls, etc.).
- PBF is managing EPCI contracts with major international Contractors but also local players including onshore prefabrication in Angola, offshore construction and Installation (FPSO modifications, SURF, SPS, SIMOPS, high number of contractors & subcontractors).
- Professional Experience (years): 15 /20 years in Oil & Gas industry on Offshore Projects / Fields.
- Experience in similar position (years): ± 10 years with experience of SURF equipment.
- Level / Diploma: Engineer, or equivalent.
- Languages: English mandatory.
- Frequent missions to be forecasted due to spread of work package locations.
- Worldwide missions to be forecasted due to spread of Contractors’ manufacturing sites, fabrication yards, sub-vendor facilities.
