Our client is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to work within their facility located in Saxonburg, for a 12-month assignment with the possibility of going permanent.
As an Automation Controls Engineer, you will become an active member of a team applying advanced manufacturing technologies to produce medical devices. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of complex automated assembly lines, packaging systems and testing systems. You will develop hands-on expertise in testing, troubleshooting and improving the installation, start-up and operation of these manufacturing systems. You will be heavily involved in the software validations necessary to ensure compliance with the company’s quality requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC’s, Fanuc robots, Machine Vision, and Panel View HMI’s
  • Implement advanced automated solutions to improve medical device manufacturing processes
  • Develop detailed requirements and Validation Protocols
  • Build proof of concept and prototypes
  • Collaborate with engineers to achieve expected quality levels in products.
  • Conduct Software Validations following GAMP 5
  • Participate in and lead code reviews
  • Ensure compliance of quality processes and standards
  • Identify issues and risks and develop mitigation plans with the cross functional team to resolve project setbacks and obstacles
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to develop detailed technical requirements and validation protocols.
  • Experience with software validations and compliance with quality standards.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead code reviews.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum experience of 2-3 years in automation controls engineering
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Fanuc robots, Machine Vision systems, and HMI programming
  • Knowledge of GAMP 5 software validation processes
  • Hands-on experience in automation controls within the medical device or pharmaceutical industries
