The Role:
One of our more valued clients is seeking a skilled Construction Super indendent to coordinate construction and pre-commissioning activities in collaboration with the Construction Manager. The role involves ensuring project schedules are met, supervising site personnel, and maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all relevant codes and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Professionally execute assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate construction and pre-commissioning with the Construction Manager.
  • Review and prepare detailed construction schedules.
  • Monitor progress reports and site activities to meet project timelines.
  • Directly supervise site construction personnel (civil, piping, steel structure supervisors).
  • Communicate with other contractor’s site personnel for smooth progress.
  • Ensure all construction drawings, specifications, and procedures are current and followed.
  • Supervise contractor planning to align with project schedules and milestones.
  • Implement and follow up on quality control, safety, and site procedures.
  • Ensure proper completion of construction and pre-commissioning activities for commissioning readiness.
  • Oversee material management systems and update red marked documentation.
  • Register and control punch items from the start of construction.
  • Assess and approve any Variation Order Requests with the Construction or Project Manager.
  • Attend quality and HES discussions and daily toolbox meetings.
  • Identify and solve product, process, or quality system issues.
  • Assist in identifying and clarifying any storage or incoming item non-conformities.
  • Approve material deliveries from the warehouse to the site.
  • Manage and execute authorized contract modifications and changes.
  • Document lessons learned during the project.
  • Ensure compliance with HES practices and provide assistance in case of accidents.
  • Establish and manage interfaces with existing plants or concurrent projects.

Duties:
  • Act as the Construction Manager in their absence.
  • Collaborate closely with HES Superintendents/Officers and Quality Control Managers/Officers.
  • Monitor contractor progress with the Project Control Manager.
  • Review contractors’ Method Statements, Construction Execution Plans, and related studies.
  • Ensure contractors’ personnel are competent, experienced, and adequately staffed.
  • Participate in construction meetings with contractors.
  • Coordinate discipline supervisors to resolve interferences and priority disputes.
  • Review material management plans and material delivery status with the Material Manager.
  • Verify the status of field changes with Field Project Engineers.
  • Report any deviations or concerns affecting project execution to the Construction or Project Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant educational background.
  • Proven experience in construction supervision.
  • Strong understanding of construction schedules, quality control, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with site personnel and contractors.
  • Competency in reviewing and implementing construction plans and procedures.
  • Experience in managing material delivery and distribution.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch.
