Senior Safety and Risk Engineer

  • Location: Perth, CBD 
  • Indicative assignment length: Up to 12 months Contract

 

The role responsibilities include:

Reporting to the Lead Safety and Risk Engineer or delegate you will be working as part of a dedicated project team. While working on a number of engineering projects you will provide your technical knowledge and experience across onshore gas and condensate production facilities focusing on:

  • Performing various safety studies and deliverables e.g SCEIA, EMEA, SCIA, FHA, QRA, NFHA, HFE, Bow-tie Assessment, Safety Case, Noise Assessment, Gas Dispersion, Flare Radiation, Fire Protection and Detection and Alarm System deliverables etc.
  • Providing support for risk-based decision-making.
  • Applying safety in design principles to the assigned projects.
  • Compliance with safety regulations and applicable safety related codes and standards across all aspect of the design / modification.
  • Participate and contribute to project internal meeting and client.
  • Representing the Safety and Risk discipline in design reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs and LOPA.
  • You will bring to company Safe and Sustainable Engineering for Asset Lifecycle (SEAL) Standard and leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Our values and behaviors to ensure safe, reliable operations and client satisfaction.

 

What you’ll have

  • Engineering Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant years of experience in safety and risk engineering gained in oil and gas industry and preferably on brownfields projects (existing assets).
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking formal safety assessment (FSA) studies, risk-based decision-making and the design / specification of safety critical equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge and competence in use of specialized software such as DNV PHAST, Pipenet and Flaresim.
  • Knowledge of Australian regulation frameworks and applicable codes/ standards.
  • Great report writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team / project environment.
  • Proven ability to manage various projects and tasks with often changing and competing priorities.
  • Experience in supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting and coaching junior engineering professionals.
