Vessel Manager 

  • Permanent Position

The role of Vessel Manager is to:

  • Safely optimize the operations and commercial performance of vessels to meet the requirements of the Company’s business objectives.
  • Work in collaboration with external contractors to effectively service and maintain company vessels in accordance with operational needs, including dry dockings.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to optimize business and asset performance.
  • Ensure Docking Specifications are prepared in advance.
  • Ensure adequate company's representation during dry docking.
  • Ensure Fleet Operations General Manager – Australasia Vessel Operations is kept informed of dry-docking progress of vessels.
  • Liaising with Chartering desk and Fleet Operations General Manager – Australasia Vessel Operations for vessel planning.
  • Responsible for efficient management of vessel planned maintenance systems.
  • Appoint and manage subcontractor services for fleet asset maintenance in conjunction with Fleet Operations General Manager – Australasia Vessel Operations.
  • Planning of all vessel maintenance in consultation with the external contractors.
  • Ensure planned and preventative maintenance occurs as per maintenance programs.
  • Daily management and co-ordination of vessel maintenance items.
  • Approval and processing of all purchase requisitions.
  • Approve and review all repairs and maintenance invoices.
  • Ensure the Management of Change process is adhered to.
  • Consult with DPA with regards to any Regulatory issues on board ship and will relation to any NCRs received by vessel from Regulators.
  • Ensuring Masters and Chief Engineers are fully aware of client requirements.
  • Fully conversant with the operational commitments of the vessel charter parties under management.

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant Maritime qualifications

 

Essential experience

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel
  • Demonstrable analytical capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
